About the Colonial Theatre

The Colonial Theatre, built in 1900, is located in Boston’s Historic Theatre District. A magnificent building, rich in history, it is the oldest continuously operating theatre in New England.

The Colonial Theatre Opened on December 26, 1900 with Ben-Hur. The event featured a cast of 350 and a chariot race using 8 live horses! The theatre has hosted many world premieres and pre-Broadway productions.

There are not parking facilities directly on the Colonial’s grounds, but there are however numerous parking garages nearby. Please note The Colonial Theater does not validate parking tickets..

Central Parking at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Towers – Located nearby the Colonial on Boylston St.

The Motor Mart Garage – Located near Park Plaza on Stuart Street.
The Radisson Hotel Garage located at the corner of Stuart and Charles St. (open daily)
New England Medical Center – Located next to the Wang Theatre, on Tremont Street.
The Boston Common Garage – Located on Charles St. between the Boston Common and the Public Gardens (open 24/7)
Charles Street Parking – Located in the Transportation building on Charles Street South.
